
Armac Nurse 1 of only 200 Vet Nurses to Qualify in Emergency Nursing
Congratulations to our night veterinary nurse Rachel McDermott. After qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse, Rachel took on a further education course, City and Guilds Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Emergency and Critical Care. The course has taken 18 months and consisted of 6 units covering all aspects of emergency and critical care such as, nursing skills, anaesthesia, triage, patient monitoring and dealing with specific emergencies for instance, GDV’s (gastric dilation volvulus) and caesareans. The course has involved assignments and plenty of study time, the final exams were held in Dunfermline and consisted of two written exams and a practical exam. There are less than 200 vet nurses in the country that have this qualification and Rachel is now:
